Claude Opus 4.1 Now Generally Available in GitHub Copilot

Availability in GitHub Copilot

Claude Opus 4.1 is now generally available for users subscribed to Copilot Pro+ and Copilot Enterprise plans. This model can be accessed in GitHub Copilot Chat across multiple platforms, including:

github.com
Visual Studio Code
Visual Studio
JetBrains IDEs
Xcode
Eclipse
GitHub Mobile

Users can select Claude Opus 4.1 using the chat model picker in any of these environments.

Enabling Access

Enterprise Administrators: To enable Claude Opus 4.1 for your organization, opt in by activating the new policy under Copilot settings. This makes the model visible to all users within the organization across supported IDEs.
Pro+ Users: For individual Pro+ users, simply select Claude Opus 4.1 via the model picker in your preferred IDE and confirm the one-time prompt to enable it.
